"Mapleridge Deerhound Kennels"

Established in 1990.

Our wonderful stud of Scottish Deerhounds was founded on two foundation bitches :

"Atlas Massalina" and "Atlas Antonia",

who were bred by the great Chas.A.Venables of

"Atlas Kennels".

These bitches produced pups from outstanding Stud dogs and

"Mapleridge Was Born".

We carry a large number of Deerhounds in our kennels, as we aim to keep a broad range of blood lines and this allows us to breed top class pups.

All of our Deerhounds are all workers and are expected to do a full days work.

We are advocates for letting dogs do the job that they were bred for

and watching Deerhounds at work allows us to look at conformation and to

quickly spot potential Sires and Dams.

 We know that working lines, allows for natural conformation to occur.

The temperaments in our hounds is fantastic, with a large number of our pups going to family homes with children and cat's!

"Mapleridge Deerhound's" also do well in the Showring and have stood the test of time by winning many in group and Speciality shows.

We breed our Deerhounds to a high Standard and are bound by the ethics and rules of the

"Australian National Kennel Club",

"Victorian Canine Association." and the

"Deerhound Club of Victoria":
